Autum light

Naked autumn light
Stripping the leaves
Sliding lower
To expose itself
Hesitant to leave
Looking behind
Gathering its cobalt robe
Pleading to stay
Ringing like shattered glass
Peeking through bare branches
Flirting with the evening wind
Blinding drivers
How do I catch you,
Without slicing my fingers
On your defenseless smile?
