The Heavenly Dragon

In the vast empty cosmos

For countless eons

He hung and he waited.

He stayed there, observing.

A power of seeing

A gift or recording

Committing to memory

All that transpires.

With just a swing of his tail

He could have explored

Countless galaxies

Stars and black holes.

Yet his gaze was affixed

To one speck of the dust

Covered with ocean.

Entrusted with witnessing

The matters of humans,

The enormous green dragon

Was weeping in silence,

Lamenting the doings

Of the ones God so trusted.

The abundant blue planet

Being plunged into chaos.

Bloodshed and starvation

Slit deep at his essence.

God refused him the answers,

Not befitting the creature

He created for testimony.

Dragon's keening arose

The pitch jarring the Universe,

One the day when the humans

Erased ten myriads as one.

The dragon swore an oath

Upon all that is holy,

Making God swear

A somber oath in return:

-I will split into myriads

And descend into them,

While You bear witness

To all that transpires,

Injustice and inequity,

You swore not to forget!

Awaken Your mercy,

Hasten the day of the End!

-You will split into thousands,

To urge their souls' connection.

-Will You knit me together

When the Redemption arrives?

-Upon My Right Hand,

My beloved creature will live!

To this day, Hologram images

Of the mighty green dragon

Flicker in hearts of the humans,

Pushing them to believe.

If you look, deep and careful,

A profound search of your heart,

Perhaps you'll find a green dragon

Who just couldn't bear to watch.
